General Care Discussion :: biting at arm

i walked in and i saw mondo biting at his arm. im wondering if this means anything. i only saw him do it once though

My turtles will occasionally bite at a leg. I guess because if they have an itch, they really can't "scratch" it. I would only be concerned if it becomes a continuous biting. I sometimes see my turtles take a leg and rub their face (avoiding the claws).

mine do it only if theres some shed skin they cant take off. but thats it.

my turtle does this sometimes too. I've been wondering and worrying about it. He swims backwards as he does it too. He hasn't broken skin, but he looks like he's biting it pretty hard.
