I have ababy RES i just got the other day and i have another one on order coming next week. Is there any problems with them getting along that i should know about. I figure if they both start from babies they will be used to eachother. I just dont want them to fight

It's not just the compatibility you need to worry about but whether the new one has any sort of disease. Considering in your other posts you've mentioned how small a container you have for your current turtle, I'd hope you plan on getting a large enough container for two turtles. You now will need to double everything. You also will need to be prepared in the event they don't get along and need 2 complete setups.

It is best to not put the turtles together for 90 days to make sure neither one of them have sickness that will be passed on to each other. also you say you plan on getting a 30 gal tank soon...remember that for each inch of capspase <turltles shell mesured from where the head is and tail acutally minus the head and tail) Please see the notes for correct mesuerment of your turtle) you need 10 gals of water per inch that really will not be enough water space for them. (i know my spelling sucks) Please read the "Sticky" notes on the different areas on the forum so you completely understand what is needed for a complete and happy envirerment for each turtle.

my friend have had turtles in tanks not that big and they are fine. I mean right now they are babies. and i have a 10 gallong tank filled about 7 gallions or so and it seems to be plenty of room for them. Why do they need so much room?

Would you like to live in a really small room or in a closet? They need adequate room for exercise and because as they grow, in a too small space the chance/likelihood of bullying and/or agression is greater, for starters. Also, too small a tank is unhealthy, and is going to make it more difficult for you to keep them in clean water.
