General Care Discussion :: Update on the turtle.

Just wanted to post and let you guys know how the turtle's doing. If you might remember I received it sick and it really looked like it was on its way out. So anyway I think she's actually grown a half of an inch, I didn't think it was possible because I was told she was 6+ years old. She's cool with me too, today she climbed across my lap and was actually listening to my voice. I was still afraid she was gonna try to bite me but it was cool. Also gotta say carbon in the filter really helps. Mine ran out and the water started to tint yellowish and smelled. I've been cleaning the filter changing water too. Got a new bag of carbon and the water is crystal clear and doesn't smell. Oh, also she shed her carapace scutes for the first time in forever, lookin' good

Good news! Congrats! Glad to hear she is doing well. She's not going to stop growing yet . Mine hit a huge growth spurt at that age. Now my larger female is hitting another at 10 years old. She was 10 inches a couple months ago.. I need to measure her again because she looks much bigger than Sylvie. They were the same size for about 8 years.
