Hi all,
Bought a baby RES @ 2 weeks ago and he was fine and active, eating regularly, swimming and sunning. A week later we added a second, slightly younger one and the original now just lies on the sun platform not eating, not swimming not even moving. Will lie there with legs and arms out 24 hrs a day unless we put him in the water, then he stays for 5 mins., climbs back onto platform and resumes sleeping.
Any idea if he is sick, dying or hates the new guy? Am I supposed to treat the tap water? Feeding them baby food pellets, rarely worms (forget what type, but suggested by store and new guy loves them) and was given goldfish by store but they appear to big, although original RES did take a bite out of one first day introduced.
They're in a 15 gal tank, with proper lighting, clean water and plenty of food. New guy is fine, eating, swimming, digging.
When the original is put in the water he does swim fine, floats around for a short while, don't appeared injured but won't eat or move 98% of the time.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It's hard to keep track when you have multiple hatchlings together and it's easy to miss some early signs of trouble. The first thing I would do is separate them and continue to try various treats and feeder fish. Water should be filter with carbon media to remove chlorine/chloramines.

Thanks for the prompt response Steve.
I'll try separating them, but only have the original SMALL plastic tank that came when purchased, should I put him in a larger bowl? What about lighting/heating it? Any suggestions which one to remove?
Will also get the filter, was looking at the "Zoo Med Save Your Reptiles Turtle Clean Filter 318" @ $27.99, any feedback on that one?

Yea, skip that filter. The main thing is to keep the water warm, around 78-80 F. You can use plastic storage container as a temporary tank.
