Photo Gallery :: Few pictures of FX5 install

My plans are to get a bigger tank since I have added two more turtles to my already four. I went ahead and purchased a proper filter for the larger tank and installed it to see how it would perform.

Here are a few cliff notes /pictures .



Before the install. I have a reptofilter which maxed out at 55 gallons so I needed a more efficient filter system anyway.




I had to shorten the intake tube to fit my tank.



This is how much bio media the pet store said I would need..... They are always wrong. And people wonder why people use the Internet for shopping .... Lol. Obviously had to go back and get more. Also used puriigen instead of carbon.



Size comparison ..... Thing is huggggge.




All the plumbing done.





And plugged in.....

The part of the process where it purges the not needed water is pretty sketchy. Loud and spews water everywhere.

Way more quiet then I thought it would be.

Wow, you're going to try and keep 6 in one tank? Congrats on the FX5. Isn't the process purging air from the canister, not water?

My mistake it is a air purging process. I may try to keep six in one. But I am going to keep the four at the moment. Thanks on the congrats as we'll.
