First of all, the picture has to be smaller, since you have it on photobucket, you can reduce it, when you go to your album there is a button on top of the picture that says "edit", click on it and it will take you to an edit page where you can see a thumbnail of you picture with the size right over it, under it is a "Tag and Title" section and below that is the "Resize Picture" section wih this:
***********************
75% of original
50% of original
25% of original
* Warning: Once you reduce a picture,
you cannot enlarge it back to the original size
*********************************
Resize it until it is at least 90 x 90 (which is about the size of a thumbnail)

After resizing it will take you back to your album, copy the plain url and on the forum click on "profile" on top of the page, scroll down to the "avatar" section and where it says " Link to off-site Avatar:"
paste the picture's url in the line next to it and click submit.

That should do it. :D

I copied your picture and resized it for you, you can save it to your computer and upload it to photobucket and not worry about resizing it.
I hope you don't mind, let me know when to delete it from my album.:D

currently, avatars on this board should be 80x80 and the file size should be 6kb. there are several that are too big and it is not automatically enforced.
in the near future this should be corrected.

Thanks for all for your suggestions. We got now a 60 gallon tank and we have two filters for it but let me see about that gravel size, they keep eating it you know

take the gravel out. Replace it with large river rocks. A good rule is to make sure every decoration item in your tank is larger than the turtle's head because they'll eat anything.
