I named my turtle Tilly because I had the feeling I had a female hatchling. As Tilly grew it became apparent he was a male (he sprouted spiky claws and a big thick tail). His official name became Tilford, but he's still known as Tilly. It sort of just fits him. :)

I'm beginning to think I named a female "Tank." Which I guess could work, but it isn't exactly "lady-like." She/He is just so BIG, and reckless!! I had to name her/him Tank!!

I knew a guy that named his turtle "Lulu" and when Lulu grew up, he was a boy! The guy didn't change Lulu's name, though, because everyone was accustomed to it. Lulu didn't mind a bit.

It happens all the time. You don't really have to change the names unless you want to.

I've called mine George, but its becoming apparent that it maybe Georgina, but I'm not going to change the name.

Some friends of mine also have a dog called george, when george got pregnant they were quite surprised, but she's still george too.. :)
