Joel my female turtle is very shy but every time I look over at the tank she is in the coner. She kinda dug herself a hole a just lays there coming out only for feeding time.Unlike my other turtle who's out and about roaming the tank. She stays there day after day.Is that normal?????? :?

Refresh my memory - how long have you had them? How big are they?

I have had them for about 2 years now.Jack is about 3 1/2inches Joel is only 3inches.They are in a 20gal tank now but were planning to get a bigger tank.Jack is a little agresive not all the times but sometimes if he sees that Joel got the food first he'll bite or fight with her.Hes like a dog and wants lots of attetion. He still begs but I do not overfeed them.If you were to put your finger up to the glass he would try to bite it but instead run into the wall

To me it sounds like little Joel is feeling intimidated and that's why she's hiding. It's probably time to seriously upgrade that tank size or look at separating them.

I agree with spots mama, she is probably hiding for that reason... did you take the gravel out?
