The heater that ive been using for months, now doesnt stick to the wall of the rubbermaid container. It sticks for a while (an hour) then when I walk into the room, i see the heater floating around. What should I do? I'm so frustrated... :x

Next water change, take the heater out and clean the suction cups real well under tap water. Try to get all the slippery stuff off. Then thoroughly wipe the side of the tank where the heater mounts, get all the stuff off there too. It happens on glass tanks also.......

Are you using the Stealth heaters? I use 2, and I let one hang loose in the bottom (I reused the suction cups for something else). Just make sure the there is slack and I used a small clamp so the weight of the cord doesn't pull the heater out of the water.

If you can't get them to stick after a good cleaning, you could try something like gluing a river rock to one of the suction cups to weight it so that it sinks to the bottom. (if it doesn't sink already, i know my old glass heater would float, never tried it with my Stealth)

I siliconed a small flat rock to the bottom of a heater guard that's in my RES's stock tank to weigh it down. For me, suction cups have never worked well in Rubbermaid containers for any length of time, and I wasn't even going to fight with trying to keep it stuck to the side of a stock tank.
