You can see how much he has grown, the middle is the day I got him (3/29/07) and the other 2 were taken yesterday. Also is that yellow ok? He was rubbing on the rocks to get to his plants and I don't know if that is from that or not. I moved the plants and he doesn't do that now.

Cheerios is getting to be a big boy! Or girl! Looks very healthy.

If you're talking about the yellow on the edge of the shell and on the bottom, it's normal. It's rather pretty don't you think. If you feed your turtles a lot of carrots the yellow will eventually become almost orange!

Also the yellow along the middle/spine area. That is interesting to know maybe I will see if he likes carrots and see how that goes

The lightish area down the middle of the shell? In the pic on the far right, it looks rather wide, almost as if air is getting under the scutes before they shed. What does the shell look like dry?

Foods containing beta carotene will help to enhance coloration. Don't just feed carrots, though, try other orange foods---pumpkin, squash, cantelope, etc.

I have to go to work now, but in the morining I will take a pic with him dry and post it. I am/was worried that it was from rubbing under the rocks.

Here are a couple from this morning. Sorry about the flash reflections on him. I took some with out the flash but they came out blurry.

This one he is still a little wet. I am worried about the yellow stripe down the middle.

He looks great in those pics!

As they grow into adults, it is normal for them to become brown/yellow rather than the vibrant green.
